Consistently good SLS prints, but DFM feedback could improve slightly

My SLS 3D Printing orders are reliably high quality, though the Design for Manufacturing Feedback could be a bit more detailed compared to Fictiv.

Need some custom metal parts, CNC Milling or Sheet Metal Fabrication?

K KavitaRao 1 month ago ✓ Best Answer
Totally depends on the part geometry. If it's complex 3D shapes, CNC milling is your go-to. If it's more like bent flat pieces, sheet metal is way cheaper.

P PoojaShah 1 month ago
Also, tolerances. CNC milling usually gets tighter tolerances.

This. Think about what your part *does*.

CNC milling gives you more material options too, like Stainless Steel Machining or Aluminum Machining. Sheet metal is more limited.

True, but sheet metal can be really fast for simple enclosures.

Upload your CAD and get an instant quote for both. That'll give you a good idea of cost and lead time differences.

Yeah, the instant quote is super helpful for comparing.

First time using Hubs, what 3D printing method should I start with for prototypes?

R RahulVerma 2 months ago ✓ Best Answer
For prototypes, FDM is usually the cheapest and fastest if you don't need super fine detail. Good for checking fit and basic function.

Agreed. I always start with FDM to iron out the big issues.

Yeah, FDM is solid for quick checks. Plus, materials are cheaper.

If you need more detail, SLA is worth the extra cost. Smoother finish too.

SLA is great for visual prototypes, but can be a bit brittle sometimes.

I'd check if you can get a new customer credit. Might make trying a slightly better method like MJF more affordable.
